Now, don't you feel safer?

You know, I sure am glad that Tom Ridge is earning his paycheck by keeping us safe from dangerous folks like this....

  • Am I the only one that thinks Tom Ridge looks like an older, less shaved-heady, Mike Fields?

  • Did you read the entire article? The Ibrahim Hooper guy used the word "Kafkaeque," I'm not even sure if he is using this adject-nym correctly. Why do people think they are intellectual by comparing things to Kafka's work?

Dennis Miller is one of those pseudo-intellectuals who cannot go 20 minutes without bringing up Kafka.

What's up with Dennis Miller, anyway? When he had his HBO show, I could have sworn he was liberal. Now he is on MSNBC and openly tells people he is a Republican. He was funnier when he appeared more liberal. Now Dennis Miller appears to be auditioning for some FoxNews program.

I'm a conservative. But when I host my MSNBC news program, I am going to be a rabid liberal.

  • I think it is used correctly, since in "The Trial", Joseph K. is arrested and thrown in jail without ever even being told what he did, simply imprisoned on vague, unsubstantiated, or incoherent charges. Which, quite frankly, is all the Department of Homeland Security seems able to come up with these days.
Did you know that if you play the album "Teaser and the Firecat" backwards, it says "Death to the Great Satan."?
Somebody must have put something in Dennis Miller's drink - I remember him being a pretty ranty liberal in his HBO days (back in the days when I had cable). When Lisa and I got married, as we got back to the hotel, we got on the elevator, and Dennis was there (he was in town for a Tampa Bay Bucs game back when he was doing color commentary for the teevee). He is very short. He said "congratulations." He's not very funny these days - mostly just kind of disturbingly jingoistic. I do think it's much harder to be a funny conservative (P.J. O'Rourke pulls it off, but few others do) than a funny liberal - mainly because making fun of the downtrodden just isn't very funny, while making fun of the powerful is.
